War Brides From France
Searching for information of war brides who came from France after WW1? While I am interested in any and all, there's a specific interest in Australian-French marriages around the Western Front area. Going even further, a town called Vignacourt was a clearing station for diggers who were billeted with French families. I know that a number of Australians who stayed in the Vignacourt area (close to Amiens) married French women. It's believed a number of Aussies then stayed in France to live there with their new brides rather than return to Australia. Any information about any of this would be greatly appreciated.
