British Pathe is a digital archive of films from 1896 to 1970. Pathe began as a company producing phonograph records and in the late 1890s moved into producing films. They were ahead of technology at the time, not only shooting film, but making equipment and operating a string of movie theatres. In 1908 they invented the newsreel and many of us would be used to the Pathe brand from the days when all movies were preceded by a newsreel.

Alastair Kennedy from the Australian
Demographic and Social Research Institute at Canberra's ANU, has
unearthed a handful of unusual war brides from the First World War.
Alastair writes about the brides he has found...

This film by bEn Sombogaart, follows the stories of 3 Dutch war brides and 1 man who follow their hearts to New Zealand after World War II.
